I found this on a craft site, but there's no crafting involved. They simply state to print out the poem and give it with a candle as a gift. Anyone can do this :)

If you are crafty, get creative with the paper you print the poem on, adding and embellishing as you desire. Other crafty ideas would be to use some creative packaging like a nice basket, origami box or gift wrapping techniques.

For each Hope Candle sold, Scent-Sations will donate $6.00 to the Foundation with an initial goal of $5000. Cleaning Old Candle Holders

If you've been burning paraffin candles you have that toxic black soot on your candle holders. To remove that soot, take a used dryer sheet and wipe the inside of your candle holders (make sure the candle is out and cooled down first). The soot will wipe right off. Quick and fast!

Headphones.
Whatever the electronic device (TV, computer, iPod, stereo), your student will need a way to listen to it without driving roommates insane. We recommend sending a wireless headphone set. It can relieve tension when roommates don't share the same taste in music.

Soap.
Soap is often forgotten, left behind in the shower stall to disappear forever. Unfortunately, college dorms do not provide cute little soaps and shampoos like hotels do for the next shower; so every care package could use a bar of soap. The Perils of Paraffin Candles

Paraffin is the final byproduct in the petroleum fuel refining chain. It's basically the "bottom of the barrel" even after asphalt is extracted. Burning common paraffin candles puts carcinogens, including benziene and toulene into the air you breathe. These candles can cause cancer according to recent research.

Besides the more serious risks, scientists also suggest some people believing they have an indoor allergy or respiratory irritation may in fact be reacting to air pollutants from burning paraffin candles. Thier research suggests breathing paraffin fumes from a burning paraffin candle in an enclosed environment, has the same effect as inhaling significant second-hand tobacco smoke, or the exhaust fumes of a small diesel engine!

Soy candles are made with the natural oil of soybean plants. They last three times longer than petroleum-based candles, which means you're getting more for your money. Who doesn't like that?
